We are even seeing people wearing some lovely homemade coloured ones. If you like me are a total sewing novice- I haven&#8217;t touched a sewing machine since my Junior Cert circa 2003! These masks are very comfortable, provide good face coverage and were mush easier to make than the finished product looks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Materials Needed: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kildarelibraries.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/97633593_2960497317332735_5217687920864919552_n.jpg?w=750\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1270\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Cotton Weave Fabric (~1\/2 yard is enough to make 2-3 masks)<br>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 All-Purpose Thread<br>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Hair Ties (2) or Elastic (14 inches)<br>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Scissors<br>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Mask Template (available <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unitypoint.org\/filesimages\/COVID-19\/UnityPointHealth-OlsonMask-Instructions.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kildarelibraries.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/97832692_244692579957749_1116542534609272832_n.jpg?w=750\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1271\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1.Using the patterns, cut one of each shape. Match cheek 1 and mouth 1 at the dotted line (7). Sew a 1-inch tack at side 1 and side 2 where the two pieces overlap. and repeat for cheek 2 and mouth 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kildarelibraries.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/96791605_548460729051735_2444616692492402688_n.jpg?w=750\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1279\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. Pin the fronts of the fabric facing each other.
