I do have to admit that parts of this book are slow, but it is so worth sticking with. It is such a well written and thoughtful book. I do think that one of the things that I love about this book is that in some ways it comes across as a very typical Irish town in the 1950s, that is slow to change, but once it does, they open their arms to it. Towards the end, I feel do feel bad for some of the characters, despite what they have done. Which I think makes for an excellent book. I do hope you read it and enjoy it.

This title is available to borrow as both an ebook and an audiobook on Bolinda Borrowbox or if you prefer to borrow a physical copy, you can request it online or make an appointment to visit your local library.

We hope you enjoyed this review.
