National Play Day 2021 will take place from 3rd \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 10th<\/sup>\u00c2\u00a0July with the aim of promoting play and recreation opportunities for children and young people all over Ireland. This year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s theme is \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcPlayful Communities\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00c2\u00a0and Kildare\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Play Day event has been scheduled for Saturday 10th<\/sup>\u00c2\u00a0July 2021.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kildare County Council will distribute 1,000 free play packs through the library network and to families identified by Kildare Children & Young People\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Services Committee and other partners.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play packs will be available for collection at Athy, Celbridge, Kildare, Leixlip, Maynooth, Naas, and Newbridge branch libraries from Friday 9th<\/sup>\u00c2\u00a0July 2021. Please check\u00c2\u00a0www.kildare.ie\/library<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0for opening hours and make an appointment<\/a> to visit your local library and collect it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each play pack is packed full of exciting games and arts & craft essentials, with a total retail value of \u00e2\u201a\u00ac10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children and families are encouraged to have fun playing with the contents or use them to enter the Play Day 2021 competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enter, use at least three of the items in your pack to create something playful to use outside \u00e2\u20ac\u201c an outdoor game, activity or art project.  There are no other rules, so let your imaginations run wild!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submit a photo of your creation to parks@kildarecoco.ie<\/a> by 5pm on Monday 19th<\/sup> July 2021 to be in with a chance of winning one of three \u00e2\u201a\u00ac100 cash prizes across three age groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outdoor play has a positive impact on children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical wellbeing and is even more important after months of public health restrictions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kildare County Council is proud to support this creative play initiative which is part-funded by\u00c2\u00a0the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
