House destroyed by fire
Ballitore House, an unoccupied building, was burned to the ground on Tuesday. It had been rumoured that the Civic Guards intended to take it over for a barracks. Military from Carlow made seven arrests in the vicinity, and it is said that the men have been arrested in connection with the burning of the house.
