FORMER PUPILS AT THE FRONT.
A list has been compiled of former pupils of Clongowes Wood College who are at present serving with the military and naval forces. Since its publication other names have come under the editor’s notice so that the total numbers now over 250. Six old Clongownians who already been killed. They were Captain Gerard L.E. Sherlock, 3rd King’s Own Hussars; Capt. Richard Domonic O’ Connor, R.A.M.C.; (mentioned in despatches); Lieutenant Patrick M’Donagh, Royal West Kent Regiment; Surgeon James Barrett, R.N., and Captain Hugh Conor O’Brien, Royal Munster Fusiliers. Twelve Clongownians have been wounded, four have been made prisoners, and three have been wounded and made prisoners. Four, as well as Lieutenant-Colonel Dalton, have gained distinctions in the present war, namely- Captain Charles V. Fox, D.S.O., of the Scots Guards; Surgeon-General T. J. O’Donnell, D.S.O., of the R.A.M.C. (mentioned in despatches) Capt J. J. O’Keeffe, R.A.M.C. (Legion of Honour), and Lieut. H. K. O’Kelly, D.S.O., West Riding Regt. The following clergymen are chaplains: – Rev. Edward O’Donoghue, Rev. Henry V. Gill, S.J.; Rev. John Gwynn, S.J., and Rev. Joseph Hearn S.J.
