Former Kildare Footballer dies

Mr. Michael Cosgrove, who collapsed and died in a bus in Dublin, took a prominent part in the War of Independence and was a member of the Four Courts Garrison during Easter Week.

He played Gaelic Football with Kildare in the 1920’s. He was a steward at Croke Park (Hogan Stand) for the past 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delia Cosgrove; Messrs. Hugh, Pater and Jim Cosgrove (brothers); Misses Kathleen and Nellie Cosgrove (sisters).

The funeral with military honours took place to Dean’s Grange Cemetery. Chief mourners were – Mrs. Cosgrove (widow); Hugh, James and Peter Cosgrove (brothers); Misses Ellen and Kathleen Cosgrove (sisters); Peadar and Michael Cosgrove (nephews).
