Former N.C.O. Dies

Sincere regret was occasioned in the Kildare district by the death in Manchester, of Mr. David Scott former Sergeant Major at Artillery Barracks Kildare. During the many years in which he was attached to the Kildare Barracks he was a very popular and highly respected figure and had many friends in the town and district. He retired from the army some years ago and went to live in England. He is survived by his wife and family.

Interment took place in the new Cemetery, the attendance including a big contingent of military personnel as well as a very representative gathering of civilians. The coffin was draped with the Tricolour and the Last Post was sounded at the gravesite.
