LEINSTER LEADER 31 AUGUST 1895

LIEUTENANT KENNEDY, R.N.

We learn from the Broad Arrow of the 24TH August that Lieutenant Kennedy, R.N., of the Phoebe, was wounded in an engagement which took place on the 17th inst, at Mwele, East Africa. The expedition in which Lieutenant Kennedy was engaged, and which was under the command of Rear Admiral Rawson, C.B. had left Zanzibar on the 12th instant for Mwele, which was stormed and taken by the British force.

Lieutenant Kennedy, R.N. is a son of Mr. Robert Kennedy, H.M.L. Baronrath, County Kildare. We sincerely sympathise with Mr. Kennedy on the sad occurrence, and hope that his son will speedily recover from the injuries sustained on active duty.
