Athy Death. Mr. John Day
Mr. John Day who died at his home in Dooley Terrace, Athy, last week, was aged 85 years. He was one of the few remaining men in the district skilled in the making of hand-made bricks – an industry which once flourished in the area. His father and grandfather followed the trade. He was the father of Messrs. John and Patrick Day, Athy; Michael Day, England; Mrs. O’Neill, Kildare, and Mrs. Scott, Athy.
Deceased worked at the building of the railway bridge over the Barrow at Athy in 1917.
