COMMISSIONED AT SANDHURST

Patrick Beresford , elder son of the Rev. Canon J. C. W. and Mrs. Beresford, the Rectory, Naas, was one of 200 Senior Officer Cadets who received commissions at the Soverign’s Parade at Sandhurst, taken by Admiral of the Fleet, Sir Casper John, G.C.B., First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff, on December 20.

The parade marked the completion of two years at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and was watched by over 2,000 people including Canon and Mrs. Beresford who flew over.

Second Lieutenant P. J. C. Beresford, whose name appeared next in order of merit to that of Prince Michael of Kent, had just returned from Cyprus. He now hopes to spend about three months in England before going abroad.
