CELBRIDGE DEATH

The death has taken place of Peter Duggan (84), Maynooth Road, Celbridge. An expert ploughman in his young days, he was given first place by Rathcoole Ploughing Society in 1918. He has been associated with the Labour Party in Celbridge since 1918 and was Secretary of the local branch up to the time of his death. He was also associated with the trade union movement in Dublin during the 1913 lock-out.

He is survived by sons Peter Duggan, Patrick and Thomas daughters, Mrs. D. Potter, Mrs. M. White and Mrs. R. Pasley, sister Margaret Duggan. The remains were removed to St. Patrick’s Church, Celbridge and interment was in Donacomper Cemetry. V. Rev. E. Collier, P.P. Celbridge officiated. Rev. J. Carroll, C.C. was also present. Deputy P. Norton and Mr. M. Brady, Co. C. laid a wreath on the grave on behalf of Celbridge Branch of the Labour Party.
