Leinster Leader 23 February 1963
Three Artillery Men Retire
Three Army men with long service at Artillery Barracks, Kildare, recently retired from the Defence Forces ― Battery Sergt. Louis O’Carroll, Sergt. Barney McCourt and Cpl. Dick Duggan.
The first named was one of the best known N.C.O’s in the Barracks, having been stationed there for well over thirty years. He will continue to live in Kildare. He has got a civilian position on Curragh Camp.
Sergt. Barney McCourt is also a well known figure in the area and has been associated with the Barracks for many years. He takes a very keen interest in amateur drama.
Cpl. Dick Duggan is well-known in G.A.A. circles, having been a member of the Kildare junior hurling team which won Leinster honours way back in 1924.
