UNVEILING OF THE GRANEY AMBUSH INTERPRETATIVE PANEL
Castledermot Local History Group are organising an event to mark a new interpreative panel based on the Graney Ambush of October 1922 on Saturday 22 October at 3PM. Senator Mark Wall is unveiling the panel, which was commissioned by Castledermot Local History Group and features work by artist Marc Guernon.
The unveiling is taking place at the junction of the L4015 road, on the Castledermot to Baltinglass Road R14 RK77. A free information booklet highlighting the events of October 1922 at Graney Crossroads will be available on the day also. The project is supported by the County Kildare Decade of Commemorations Committee and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 initiative.
