WILLIAM CAHILL

LEINSTER LEADER 15 FEBRUARY 1975

Died while driving

Popular townsman Mr. William Cahill (above) who died while driving at Main St. Monasterevan, on Friday morning. “Billy” had been driving for the local Tynawear factory for many years. It is believed he had a seizure on Friday morning and his vehicle crashed into an ESB pole after it had been noticed that the driver was slumped over the wheel. Married, with two daughters (Mrs. P. Doherty and Mrs. F. McDonald) he was very keen on amateur dramatics as a younger man; he was a very popular figure with his fellow workers who formed a guard of honour at the largely attended funeral to New Cemetery on Sunday.
