WORLD WAR VETERAN DIES

A Man who was wounded at the Dardenelles while fighting with the British troops in the 1914-’18 War died recently in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Athy, in his mid-seventies. He was Mr. Daniel Haydon, Hobartstown, Castledermot.

Surviving him are his daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Mackey, Ballitore; Mrs. Marv Hartley, England; Mrs. Margaret Patton, England; Mrs. Helen Brett, England and Mrs. Sarah O’Rourke, Grangecon; his sons, Messrs. Thomas, William and Daniel Heydon and brothers, Messrs. Hugh and William Haydon. After Requiem Mass celebrated in Castledermot Church by Rev. P. Dowling C.C., he was interred in the New Cemetery, Castledermot.
