He conducted the business for thirteen years until his death in 1901.<\/p>\n<p>His son, Frederick Goodwin Young was then a boy of 14. He qualified later and conducted a growing and efficiently run chemist business for almost half a century up to a short time before his death in 1959.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Shop Front Re-Designed<\/b><\/p>\n<p>His son John Kingston Young followed in this father\u2019s footsteps. He qualified in 1953 and has carried on the business since the shop front was re-designed 25 years ago and the entrance door positioned at the corner of Edward Street and Charlotte Street. Always in forefront Young\u2019s was one of the first Pharmacies in Ireland to adopt the modern visual display trend of the open counter.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>First Prescription Book<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On display in the Medical Hall is the first prescription book with the page open at the 12th May 1888. The first prescription, for 5 pills, which had to be compounded, a skilled job, cost the customer four pennies.<\/p>\n<p>Still carrying on an extensive prescription business, the vetarary end has also grown, not to mention Cosmetics. Young\u2019s Medical Hall is the exclusive area agent for such well known cosmetics as Helena Rubinstein Innoxa Cyelax. Chanel Perfumes Tang preparations for men and also in stock are the full rages of Yardley, Cory, Tweed, Melina, Max Factor, no 7 and many others.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Tradition of Service<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The tradition of which the business was build \u201cfirst class service\u201d continues under the present proprietor, who would like to take this opportunity of acknowledging the congratulations of his many friends and customers on the 75th anniversary of the firm.
