She was deservedly popular with all classes, but particularly with the poor, to whom she gave her services unstintingly and unreservedly. Both day and night, in all weathers, she could be seen travelling round on her bicycle, ministering to those who required her skilful attention.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. O\u2019Donoghue was one of the first to start the Irish Nurses\u2019 Union. She organised branches in Kildare, Carlow and Wicklow. Since its inception this Union has done marvellous work. It has improved to a considerable extent, the salaries and conditions of work for its members.<\/p>\n<p>Now that Mrs. O\u2019Donoghue has retired from her arduous duties, her numerous friends trust that she may live long to enjoy her well-earned rest. The good wishes of the people of Naas and Caragh are extended to her. Few there are who will forget her kindness to them.
