{"id":2511,"date":"2015-11-28T16:39:23","date_gmt":"2015-11-28T16:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kildare.ie\/ehistory\/?p=2511"},"modified":"2015-11-28T16:39:23","modified_gmt":"2015-11-28T16:39:23","slug":"naas-paper-chase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kildarelibraries.ie\/ehistory\/naas-paper-chase\/","title":{"rendered":"NAAS PAPER CHASE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Kildare Observer<\/em> 3 December 1932<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Naas Paper Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Naas Paper Athletic Club held another paper chase on Sunday last over a trail from Tipper through Baltreacy to Black-hall where entering the famous \u201cHerds Garden\u201d it wheeled to the right by the Old Double, through the Lime Kiln Field to the Dublin Gap where, owing to the strong wind demanding a heavy \u201cscent\u201d the \u201chares\u201d ran out of paper and were obliged to direct the pack home via Crad-oxtown Bog. The voucher system was again tested and was favourably received by all, the following securing the \u201corder of merit\u201d- P.J. Farrell, C. Treacy, John McGarr, T. Tyrell and Dick Smith. J. Kilduff was awarded the consolation prize for the first man home.
