Osborne, son of Mr and Mrs J. W. Osborne, <\/font><font size=\"4\">of Craddockstown house, Naas, has recently been assigned duty as a radio <\/font><font size=\"4\">maintenance technician with 1230th Airways and Air Communications <\/font><font size=\"4\">service squadron, R. A. F. Station Croughton, in the English Midlands. <\/font><font size=\"4\">Airman Osborne, who was well-known as an amateur jockey, will share in <\/font><font size=\"4\">the responsibility of insuring constant radio communication to all NATO <\/font><font size=\"4\">aircraft flying over the North Atlantic. Croughton Airways operated by <\/font><font size=\"4\">the men of the 1230th AACS Squadron is the United Kingdom link in the <\/font><font size=\"4\">globe-encircling network of the United States Air Force&#8217;s Strategic <\/font><font size=\"4\">Communications System.<\/font><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><font size=\"4\">Paddy emigrated to the States in December 1956. He enlisted for a four <\/font><font size=\"4\">year tour of Air Force duty in January 1957, and after receiving his <\/font><font size=\"4\">basic training at Lackland Air Base in Texas he was shipped to Scott Air <\/font><font size=\"4\">Base in Illinois for radio maintenance fundementals school. Upon his <\/font><font size=\"4\">successful completion of the radio course he was assigned to Ent Air <\/font><font size=\"4\">base in Colorado Springs for his apprenticeship.
