He opposed the Treaty and was imprisoned in the Curragh, Portlaoighise and Tintown Camp, where he underwent hunger strike.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Behan was a close friend of Donal O Buachalla, former Governor General. He was a representative of Sinn Fein on Kildare Co.
