{"id":4609,"date":"2020-12-22T23:32:29","date_gmt":"2020-12-22T23:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kildare.ie\/ehistory\/?p=4609"},"modified":"2024-07-25T10:27:20","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T09:27:20","slug":"annes-christmas-party-by-teresa-brayton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kildarelibraries.ie\/ehistory\/annes-christmas-party-by-teresa-brayton\/","title":{"rendered":"Anne&#8217;s Christmas Party by Teresa Brayton"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Anne&#8217;s Christmas Party by Teresa Brayton (1934)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Staff in the Local Studies, Genealogy &amp; Archives Department of Kildare Library Service recently came across the short story &#8216;Anne&#8217;s Christmas Party&#8217; authored by Kildare poet Teresa Brayton in an original copy of <em>An Phoblacht<\/em> in December 1934. <a href=\"https:\/\/kildarelibraries.ie\/ehistory\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Annes-Christmas-Dinner-Party-by-Teresa-Brayton.pdf\">Anne&#8217;s Christmas Dinner Party by Teresa Brayton<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Teresa Brayton was a poet and nationalist, who was born and later lived in Kilbrook, County Kildare.\u00a0<em>The Old Bog Road\u00a0<\/em>is among her most famous works. She released a volume of religious poetry\u00a0<em>Christmas Verses\u00a0<\/em>in 1934 also.
