Kildare Heritage in 3D<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-columns stk-block-columns stk-block stk-8821385\" data-block-id=\"8821385\">\n<div class=\"stk-row stk-inner-blocks stk-block-content stk-content-align stk-8821385-column\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-column stk-block-column stk-block-column--v3 stk-column stk-block-column--v2 stk-block stk-6b8f195\" data-block-id=\"6b8f195\">\n<div class=\"stk-column-wrapper stk-block-column__content stk-container stk-6b8f195-container stk--no-background stk--no-padding\">\n<div class=\"stk-block-content stk-inner-blocks stk-6b8f195-inner-blocks\">\n<p>In recent years the technologies available to document objects, monuments, buildings, and landscapes in three-dimensions, have improved in accuracy and become more affordable. As a result, three-dimensional representations of heritage objects and monuments are fast becoming ubiquitous in heritage interpretation and dissemination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>County Kildare Federation of Local History Groups<\/strong> have added a <strong><em>K3D<\/em><\/strong> section to their website to bring together in one place a selection of 3D models of Co. Kildare heritage objects and monuments.<\/p>\n<p>These models were created by a number of heritage bodies, archaeologists, and enthusiasts who have uploaded their work to the 3D model sharing platform\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sketchfab.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sketchfab.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kildarelocalhistory.ie\/a-brief-history-of-co-kildare\/k3d-co-kildare-heritage-in-3d\/\">http:\/\/kildarelocalhistory.ie\/a-brief-history-of-co-kildare\/k3d-co-kildare-heritage-in-3d\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The heritage models featured include well known monuments such as Co. Kildare\u2019s famous Moone and Castledermot high crosses. In addition, lesser known and publicly inaccessible monuments are also featured, such as the Furness Longstone and Oughterard Tower House.
