Although this well was known about for centuries, the newspaper reported that members of a local committee had worked tirelessly to organise the rededication and erection of an impressive six foot plus statue to Saint Brigid for this event. The statue had been acquired from the Brigidine Sisters, Goresbridge, County Kilkenny with the assistance of Sr. Brigid of the Sisters of Charity at Moore Abbey, Monasterevin.

Several members of the Brigidine Order had travelled from Gorebridge for this event, with Father Prendergast P.P. (also a native of Goresbridge) delivering the homily and formally unveiling the statue. A beautiful old harmonium, loaned by local woman Mrs Gannon, featured in the musical interlude. Members of the committee were thanked for all of their work in bringing this project to fruition.

<img decoding="async" class="size-medium wp-image-7342" src="https://kildarelibraries.ie/ehistory/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Unveiling-of-statue-at-St-Brigids-Well-Tully-Kildare-November-1984-768x403.jpg" alt="Pictured at the unveiling of statue to St. Brigid at Tully, Kildare in 1984 were Mr Jimmy Gilroy, Mr Seán Breen, Rev.
