Kildare County Council is hosting pre-draft consultations for the new Heritage Plan (2025-2031), with public information sessions taking place the week beginning Monday 9th June. <\/span><\/p>\n

This plan aims to deepen our understanding of Kildare\u2019s heritage and promote best practices in its conservation and management. Heritage includes a wide range of elements<\/span> from the past that merits preserving for future generations, such as inherited traditions, historic monuments, objects and culture.\u00a0As the first step in developing this Plan, Kildare County Council are inviting the people of Kildare to share their thoughts on what heritage means to them and how we can work together to protect it. Submissions are being sought from the public to help guide this process. A discussion paper has been prepared to help refine our understanding of \u201cheritage\u201d and set the scene for further discussions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Public information sessions are being held in each of the Municipal Districts, including an online session, to engage as widely as possible with the people of Kildare. The submissions received will be reviewed by the Kildare Heritage Forum for inclusion in the draft Heritage Plan.<\/span><\/p>\n
