This book is rife with challenges which a little lump of coal attempts to overcome them all. This quirky novel is captivating for the reader as they walk alongside this struggling piece of coal aspiring to be more than what he’s given credit for. Will his Christmas wish come true? Or will he crash and burn like the lump of coal he is.
Not nearly as bleak as some of Lemony Snicket’s books, The lump of coal is a perfect choice to curl up in front of the fire with and find some light hearted amusement in the lines of a new take on a Christmas story – a story you’ve never heard before.
So many Christmas stories run along the same lines, this book is refreshing and fun to read. A lovely story for this time of year.
