Kildare Library Service, Wicklow County Council Library Services & County Kildare LEADER Partnership now invite you to view our brand new ‘Small Steps to Literacy’ videos.
Children learn early literacy skills from their parents in the years before they start school. Not every parent finds it easy to help their child develop and learn new language skills. Kildare Library Service, Wicklow County Council Library Services & County Kildare LEADER Partnership have been working on a project funded by the Dormant Accounts Fund to develop and create short literacy videos aimed at parents. We identified a need for supports for parents under the age of five in particular and thanks to the Dormant Accounts Fund some wonderful families from the Roma and Traveller communities in Kildare and Wicklow volunteered their time to demonstrate simple steps that we can all take to support children as they develop language skills.
