The story is set about 100 years in the future in Chicago. The main character is Meri Beckley, a sixteen year old schoolgirl. The world Meri lives in is one of prosperity and without lies. It’s also a world without books or any printed matter. Certain words were eliminated from the dictionary 70 years earlier. Does her mother’s death raise any questions? Alternate forces tried to keep literary
life alive using subway stations. This page turning sensation reveals a final plot much different than your impression from chapter 1!
The book is very different from my usual genre and kept me interested all through, from first page to the last.
