Wildlife Illustration Workshop with author and illustrator Aga Grandowicz

In this wildlife illustration workshop, author and illustrator Aga Grandowicz, author of Dr Hibernica Finch’s Compelling Compendium of Irish Animals and Remarkable Creatures: a guide to some of Ireland’s disappearing animals will give an illustration workshop where participants will draw an endangered Irish animal. The illustrations will then be cut out and stuck on a background prepared in advance by the facilitator Aga Grandowicz.
Suitable for ages 6 – 10 years.
Please book tickets per each child and adult attending. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Holiday Water Park: Minecraft Show and Tell/ On Zoom

Do you like to create and build in Minecraft? Take part in our build challenge, sign up for our Zoom discussion and show us your take on our theme which will be sent to you in advance! Suitable for ages 6-10. Children must be accompanied on the video call by an adult. Places are limited and booking is essential. This month we want you to start building a Holiday Water Park!

Childrens’ Illustrations Collage Workshop

Some books are read so often and so loved that the library copies end up in pieces and falling apart after a couple of years of lending. We at the library like to give these books a new life in the form of artwork so we invite the children of Maynooth to come along to a special collage making workshop where we will use the illustrations of these well-loved books a new home. For ages 7 to 10.

Aspiring Teen Writers Conversation with Author Precious Dikko

Join Precious Dikko for a casual q&a about writing aimed at Teen Writers.Precious Dikko wrote her first book when she was nine years old and has been writing ever since. She’s lived in three different countries on two continents and resided for many years in Dublin with her family. She now lives in Walsall in the UK. When she is not writing she’s practicing guitar and trying to learn various languages.
“To Catch a Rebel†was her debut novel and she has since released a follow up, with the long-awaited third and final book in the series arriving in June.

Summer Stars: Wildlife Scavenger Hunt and Crafts

Join us at Maynooth Library for our Summer Stars Biodiversity Event. Test your spotting skills in the library with our wildlife themed scavenger hunt, and support the creatures in your garden with crafts made from natural materials.
