Synopsis: In 1866 news spread like wildfire that a terrifying creature was haunting the world’s oceans. Professor Pierre Aronnax, along with Conseil as well as the master harpooner Ned Land, embark on the global hunt to track down this monstrous lurking creature, only to find themselves captives on the Nautilus–a futuristic submarine designed by the equally terrifying captain Nemo. Forced to remain prisoners in the idiosyncratic Nautilus, the crew find themselves discovering not only the magnificence of the ocean, but the deep dark truth about Captain Nemo.
Review: Quoted as being “the Father of Science Fictionâ€, Jules Verne’s novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea is an exciting adventurous novel with plenty of intriguing concepts as well as unique descriptive language. The characters in this novel embark on a mission to track down a beast lurking in the sea and instead find themselves thrown head first into the mysterious ocean, along with it its equally mysterious counterpart – Captain Nemo.
This riveting novel is suitable for young and old. It is definitely a tale you do not want to miss out on.
