Kildare County Library Service operates 15 library branches in County Kildare, along with a mobile library service. We run plenty of great events throughout the year, so make sure to sign up to our email newsletter so you don’t miss out!
In addition to all of the items in your local branch, we also offer a wide range of digital services:
- Free eBooks and eAudiobooks through BorrowBox
- A range of online classes through Universal Class
- A free music streaming service with Freegal
- eMagazines with Libby
- And even more!
You’ll need a library card to avail of any of our eServices or to borrow books from our branches, but don’t worry – joining is simple! We have an online registration form and, once you’ve filled this out, you can just pop into your local library to collect your library card. To get your card, you’ll need to bring along photo ID and proof of address, and once you have your card you’ll be able to borrow up to 12 items from the library and use all of our digital services.
Did you know that your library account isn’t just for your local library? You can use your library card in any public library in the country! Items can be returned to any library too, so you can drop books from your local library into any branch and they’ll make sure they get to the right place. That’s not all – if you can’t find an item that you’re looking for in your local library, you can order items from other libraries to be delivered there for you to collect. Check out our catalogue to see all of the items that your library card gives you access to!
