And this time she has it all planned out. How her life should go. Where it’s going. But for all her strategic and careful planning, nothing is going according to plan. Everyone in Harriet’s life simply derails her plans regardless of how many thoughtful hours she put into her future.
Not one to be easily deterred, Harriet continues to fight for her future goals. Follow along to see if Harriet’s strategic planning finally works out in the end or if she is destined to fail.
I found this novel to be for a slightly younger audience; a good novel but geared at a younger age group. Geek Girl is all about a girl who wants to succeed for others, be what everyone needs her to be, but in the end life isn’t that simple. The reader is persuaded to see that you cannot live your life to please other people, or for other people. You have to do what is right for you. Harriet is a relatable girl in the sense that she’s young and naïve, but doesn’t give up no matter how difficult the challenge may seem. This is an inspiration to pre-teens and young teens who struggle with their own sense of worth and identity.
