Title: The Unleashing

Author: Shelly Laurenston

Genre: Romance, Paranormal Fiction.

Review by: Chantelle, LCA Intern for Library HQ

Synopsis: Kera Watson never expected to face death behind a Los Angeles coffee shop. Not after surviving two tours lugging an M16 around the Middle East. If it wasn’t for her hot Viking customer showing up too late to help, nobody would even see her die.

In uncountable years of service to the Allfather Odin, Ludvid Runstrom has never seen anyone kick ass with quite as much style as Kera. He knows one way to save her life-but she might not like it…

Review: In the first book of the Call Of Crows Series, Kera Watson joins forces with a bizarre group. The only thing she has to do?  Fight the paranormals with a new set of abilities and war buddies. A mad bunch of cackling, squabbling women. It’s completely bizarre, and just a little bit insane – this new life. A life after death.

Of course she has Vig to thank for this. But he couldn’t just let her die. When war comes a calling, they face it head on while trying to combat the sparks flying between them at the same time..

I would recommend this book to anyone sixteen and older who loves a bit of Viking mythology wrapped in paranormal fighting with a healthy dose of romance as well as loads of hilarious moments added into the page-turning novel.
