Synopsis: Twelve summers ago Poppy and Axel met. They instantly disliked each other and are confident they’ll never meet again.

Yet despite their avid attempts, fate throws them together again and again until they become the most unlikely of friends.

Then something went horribly wrong two summers ago….Now Poppy has one last chance to make things right.

Review: You and Me On Vacation is centred around two very unlikely friends, Poppy and Alex. Completely different in every possible aspect, Poppy and Alex shouldn’t be able to get along:

She’s quirky and he’s OCD. She likes to meet new people, he doesn’t. The list of differences stretches for miles. And yet, despite all the reasons why they should be incompatible, they just – work.

Or at least they used to. Until two fateful summers ago when something went catastrophically wrong on their annual summer trips across the world.

Now Poppy is trying desperately to repair what broke their relationship. On their very last summer trip together her only goal is to make amends. But despite her desperate acts nothing seems to be going right.

Isn’t it strange how something relatively innocuous like a broken air conditioner can be the catalyst in a sink or swim moment? The broken AC leaves them uncomfortably hot. However the room isn’t the only thing that is burning up and soon sizzling attraction meets its inevitable impasse and Poppy and Alex have a giant decision to make.

Remain “Just friends” or shoot for something bigger and better. . .

You and Me On Vacation is humorous with a few scenes that will leave you banging your head in frustration. I really enjoyed the banter between the characters who are both witty, funny and very relatable. It was a great book to relax with after reading more serious novels. Well worth the read.
