Cruinniú na nÓg, this coming Saturday 10th June, is a day of free events supported by Creative Ireland and hosted by Kildare County Council and our wonderful Libraries.

One such event is online and open to budding young writers from aged 12+. It will be online so is not limited to Maynooth Library (who has organised it) or indeed even Kildare. This is a writing workshop for all types of writers, whether they are starting out or have two novels just waiting for a editor and publisher! It will be run by best selling and award winning Young Adult author Adiba Jaigirdar.

Adiba Jaigirdar is the writer of The Henna Wars, Hani & Ishu’s Guide to Fake DatingA Million to One, and The Dos and Donuts of Love. A Bangladeshi/Irish writer and former teacher, she has an MA in Postcolonial Studies from the University of Kent, England and a BA in English and History from UCD, Ireland. Adiba was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and has been living in Dublin, Ireland from the age of ten. She is the winner of the YA book prize 2022, the KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards 2021, and was a finalist for the 2022 Lambda Literary awards.
