Kildare County Council in association with Kildare’s Age Friendly County Alliance and our Older Persons Council have launched an online survey seeking the views of older people (55 years and over) living in County Kildare.

The survey is part of a suite of consultations being undertaken to inform the development of the Kildare Age Friendly Strategy 2022 – 2027 and ensure that age friendly activities and services are developed to improve the quality of life for people in County Kildare.

As part of the National Age Friendly County and Cities programme hosted by Local Government and affiliated to the World Health Organisation the strategy aims to address a broad range of areas relevant to the quality of life of older people in County Kildare which will include actions under the following broad areas:

  1. Transport
  2. Housing
  3. Social Participation
  4. Outdoor Spaces
  5. Respect and Social Inclusion
  6. Civic Partnership and Employment
  7. Communication and Information
  8. Community Support and Health Services

In addition to the survey, Kildare County Council will be holding face to face focus group sessions in all 5 Municipal Districts along with consultations with several key agencies.

The information provided in the survey and obtained from the other consultations will assist in developing the Age Friendly Strategy, which is developed by Kildare County Council in partnership with older people, agencies, and community stakeholders.

The survey is available at Kildare Age Friendly Survey (google.com) and the deadline for responses is 31st August.
