’The ‘Let’s talk about Parenting’ Programme is a FREE series of talks and workshops for Parents and Professionals working with children and young people in County Kildare. The programme is provided by Kildare Library Service, is funded by Kildare County Council, and is supported by Kildare CYPSC and members of the multi-agency Kildare & West Wicklow Parenting Forum. ‘Tackling Social Anxiety as society prepares to re-open’
Presented by Helen Vaughan, Maynooth Counselling & Psychotherapy

This talk will cover the following: What is social anxiety and how do I know if I am affected by it? Social anxiety & Covid-19 – shouldn’t I be less anxious now that restrictions are easing? Who’s more likely to become socially anxious: contributing factors and causes. What to do about social anxiety – improving your thinking & preparing  to go out (CBT techniques). Helping children & young people with social anxiety – signs to look out for / ways to help Dealing with avoidance & using exposure therapy. Tips for dealing with the reopening of society and some self-care

Healthy Food Made Easy’ Course 
Thursdays 10am – 11.45am from 24th June – 29th July

Healthy Food Made Easy is a 6 session programme designed to help people develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to eat well and improve their health. This online programme has been developed by HSE dietitians and local people have been trained to deliver the course in their community. Participants will be encouraged to shop for a chosen recipe and cook at the session each week. Participants will need access to a tablet, laptop, smart phone or desktop and an internet connection.So set aside a small bit of time for yourself one morning each week, to enjoy cooking and learning some easy and healthy recipes for yourself and your family!
