An intense, powerful novel that will stay with the reader long after the final page has been turned. Abi Daré deftly tackles many issues such as domestic slavery and child marriage through her protagonist. While Abi Daré’s novel may be a challenging read at times due to its subject matter, it is well worth it. I recommend this book to readers looking for an interesting story.
